Also, glass platters need to be cleaned and their rotating parts along with the platter itself can be damaged or broken over time with heavy use.


It is typically not feasible to have a residential microwave repaired once it breaks.  Between the cost of scarce parts and repair, it often makes more sense to just replace the microwave.  On the other hand, commercial microwave ovens typically have readily available parts that are easy to replace.  You can also expect the availability of on-site service which can be critical depending on your food service operation.
